Ceremonial Robe of the Consort of Imperial
This is a ceremonial dress which a queen consort or princess used to wear on a big ceremony or wedding in the palace.
The outer robe and inside robe of yellow color are a set. At the beginning the red robe and yellow robe was made as a single layer each and wearing it together. But, passing down the generation after generation, red & yellow robe was combined as one layer and used it.
Especially, the phoenix design and golden fabric are used only for the royal family. However, it’s permitted to wear for the wedding or a ceremonial dress of the noble family if the robe has no flowers and butterflies design and any pattern in the satin.
A pendant style necklace was made with a cubic amber and using Korean traditional knot.
Bride's Headpiece.
It is an official hat for a wedding ceremony when you wear a ceremonial robe. This hat designed as following each family taste and custom.
In the front, it’s decorated with round shape coral & jade which is symbolized the sun. On the back, it’s decorated with round shaped jade which means the moon.
On the top of the hat is decorated with amber, jade and coral are placed on the jade plate. It’s also decorated with a kind of ornamental hairpin of phoenix shape.
At the side, Chinese letters means happy and long life made with corals and jade decorated. The two bamboo hairpins decorated moving objects.
Norigae made of Jade for fragrance
In the past, court ladies and noble families used perfume norigae. Using a fragrant material which is juniper or aloeswood or some other fragrance materials is put in met pocket made with 5 colors of silk threads. After that they were worn it under the skirt or dangeui and whenever they moved kick the pocket for spreading scent delicately.
Bridal Gown at Gae-Sung Area
Gae-seong Won-sam is unlike the common bridal gown, this was covered with a scarlet hem and it’s been put the cuff of a sleeve with scarlet color. The ladies wore short-long white sleeves on their wrists to cover their hands
It’s embroidered with peony in the middle of belt and when they wear it make the embroidery in the middle of the front part and control the length for a style of dressing.
In the wedding, a bride wears this bridal gown and a wig then trimming a flower with a paper or cloth. And put on a daenggi of pearl. The next day of the wedding, the bride push up her hair on top of her head in a bun and put a pearl plate made of black silk on top of it. And wear a headpiece and a hair ribbon.
Key Holder.
This norigae is for keys of grain warehouse, money box and rice chest. It hangs on the wall in main living space.
This wrapping-cloth is made by dying slowly with sappanwood, polygonum indigo, safflower, loess, wormwood, gardenia, skin of amur cork tree, root of Korean borage, clove, chestnut, tea in ramie fabric.
Patchwork Vest
A one-year-old baby normally is worn this vest in the spring and the autumn.
At the backside of cincture, ten longevity symbols embroidered for health and long life.
Bead Norigae
It’s plaited cord with red, yellow and blue color silk. The top of the tassel is tied together with silk thread and the tassel is made of bead.
Woman's winter hat
It’s a thermal hat for a child in a winter for the Northern area of Gyeonggi Province. It’s embroidered with peony on the outside and hanging the embroidered Daenggi on the back. On the knob of the hat, it’s decorated a long silk cord with stitching in places. There are wrappers for the both cheek on both sides so the child can make warm the cheek.
Round style pouch.
The little girls are usually used the rounded shaped pocket for the bottom. The reason for another cover is for protecting to easily wear down at the edge.
The 3 beads which symbolize So-Cheon, Jung-Cheon and Dae-Cheon world of Buddhism are tied up with 3 colors silk threads and plait knot with silk cord. It’s also hanged 2 pieces tassel which threaded with coral, amber and jade ring.

These pockets are for male and old men. It’s padded cloth to prevent the edges from breaking apart with.
This norigae is decorated with hanging long by using triangle style of water chestnut which easily could get at the swamp. And it’s also match with modern clothes.
Sewing Box
This box is used for putting sewing goods such as yarn, needles, scissors and ruler. It’s embroidered with blossom, orchid, chrysanthemum, and bamboo around it which are represented 4 seasons.
Headpiece for Bride
Like a ceremonial coronet, it’s one of the official hat for the ceremonial robe. It’s made of 7 pieces of black satin and inserted the cotton inside. At the middle of the top of the head, there is a plate of jade which is designed a pear blossom. Red orpiment, jade, amber and pear has been stringed and placed above it. It’s also decorated with jade plate, purple agate, geumpa, jade, coral, and amber at the 4 corners. For both sides it’s decorated with jade flower and a Chinese letter(喜(희)) which means joy and made of coral. It’s hanged beads of pearl & a tassel of five directions at the front. The decorations of headpiece are very variety from a simple one at the center of the head to colorful with a variety of shapes.

Ceremonial Robe
In the royal family, it is the robe of Seson; the eldest son of the Crown prince. And in the noble family, from the first birthday to precedent or before marriage, it’s a ceremonial robe on a traditional Korean outer coat which both sides are opened so it’s 3 trains. There is also opened middle of back. The sleeves are wide with black or purple hem and gilt on them.
